  • Between Earth and Sea: a Selkie Tale is an interesting and engaging tale of romance. It’s a real page turner; you won’t want to put it down until you finish it. I’m hoping there will be a sequel. I couldn’t get enough. I want more.

  • The Blossoming is the third in a series of The Green Man. Even under the protection of The Green Man, Sylvia and Owen keep running into dead bodies. Now they’re dealing with the pressure of putting together a wedding while finding a solution to a murder. I like the occasions when the Green Man appears to give Sylvia his cryptic warnings and how the meaning of his words are explained as the story unfolds. The descriptions of the bay and the surrounding area are vivid, but tempered by the reminders of the intrusions of modern day life, like cigar boats

  • Another great read by Sharon Brubaker. Suspense filled. I read it in a day and a half because I couldn't put it down!

Another great read by Sharon Brubaker. Suspense filled. I read it in a day and a half because I couldn’t put it down! Adult scenes are tastefully written. Concerns of modern life are addressed well. I live across the Conowingo Dam from where the books are set, these books make me want to head over and check the area out. I hope there’s a #4 in the works. Though Sylvia and Owen could use a break.

  • The Leafing is perfect if you're looking for a get-lost-in-a-book, yet light-read!!

The Leafing is perfect if you’re looking for a get-lost-in-a-book, yet light-read. It has a mixture of romance, suspense, and a hint of sci-fi. It picks up right where The Greening left off. The fictional setting is based on a location close to my home, so I enjoyed “recognizing” scenes, such as local restaurants, where Slyvia and friends visited. This is a fun, fast-paced, engrossing book!

  • Make Way for the Green Man!

This is clearly a sequel to The Greening. It is another ecological murder mystery with help from the mythological Green Man. Once again, Ms. Brubaker has taken a very classical myth and updated it for modern readers in her newest murder mystery that takes place on the Chesapeake Bay. Well done!!

  • The twists and turns will keep you amazed!

  • Just the right blend of mystery, excitement, romance and environment!

“The Leafing” was just the right blend of mystery, excitement, romance and environment. I enjoyed being brought again to the Chesapeake Bay. Once I started, it was hard to put down. This book was just as great as “The Greening” and I anxiously await the next book in the series.

    Barbara P

  • An enjoyable and fast read!

Mrs. Brubaker is a wonderful storyteller, full of detail so you feel you are a part of Sylvia’s life, as she deals with romance, love, family, murder, kidnapping, and a new dog. As I got into the story I didn’t want to put it down. Nothing else got done until I finished the book. Can’t wait for number 3. Hope there are a dozen in the series. • I would recommend this book!

Summertime away from Mom and Dad at the beach with your Aunt and Uncle. What could go wrong? Miranda enjoys life at the beach, having a boyfriend, and a job, but there is a problem with her Uncle. This is a helpful book about a difficult topic. Author Sharon Brubaker has brought to light a topic most young girls do not hear about till it happens to them. I would recommend this book to readers in the sixth grade and up.

    B Bee

  • I thought the book was very good!

The subject matter would be wonderful for sixth through eight grades to read. Wish the middle schools would put this on their reading list.

    Barbara L

  • It is a good balance of discoveries, both frightening and joyful!

This book presents an enjoyable picture of summer life at the Delaware beach, along with a sensitive handling of a difficult subject. Sharon Brubaker is skillful in her characterization of a young teenager faced with a menacing situation. It is a good balance of discoveries, both frightening and joyful, made by a girl away from the shelter of her family for the first time.

    Alice L

  • The book is a quick read and a great book to start discussions about this important topic.

End of Summer by Sharon Brubaker tells the enticing story of a teenage girl who spends her summer with an aunt and uncle at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She finds her first love and her first job, but, she also encounters something more. Something fearful and uncomfortable. Brubaker delicately addresses a topic that’s not easy to discuss: sexual abuse by a family member. The book is a quick read and a great book to start discussions about this important topic.

She has written a fun mystery/love story with a great sense of place and awareness of environmental issues. I will be slowing down to watch for Greenman!

  • This is an excellent author. A very intense book.

There is so much action, sadness, love, fantasy, so many emotions while you are reading this wonderful book. Someone had been murdered, I can’t wait for you to get the whole story. I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

    Sandy

  • Well done!!

Ms. Brubaker has taken a classic mythological theme and updated it for modern readers. This book was rather like an American Agatha Christie with the addition of the Green Man.

    Marcia B

  • The Greening who-done-it had me guessing from chapter to chapter.

I liked the characters and how my opinion of them changed over the course of the book. Sharon Brubaker’s description of the chemical company’s impact on the environment was chilling. The second book, The Leafing, came today. I can’t wait to get started!

  • Can not wait for the next book in the series.

The story line was very good and kept you wanting to read. The mystery was very interesting and was as good as any known author.

    Barbara L

  • Can't wait for the rest of the series!

The spirit of the forest, in the form of the Green Man, and an independent contemporary young woman are an intriguing combination in this new mystery. The author’s skilled descriptions make the reader feel part of the action and the settings are richly detailed.

    Alice L

  • I could not put this book down

This mystery involves a young women who is starting life after college. She starts her first job, deals with death, meets a guy, and deals with the folklore of the Green Man. Eveytime I thought I knew what was going to happen the story took a different turn.

LOVED IT! I loved how historical facts collided with fantasy.

  • The imagery in the Greening is outstanding.

This mystery makes you laugh, probe, and ask the question. Is it man vs woman vs mother nature or it the reverse? The novel left me anxiously awaiting more from the author. I HOPE ANOTHER BOOK IS IN THE PROCESS.

    Mary Lou T
